What are Directories?

Directories are like the yellow pages of the Internet. Directories are proven to drive relevant web traffic. For most companies, Directory Inclusion will create a long term traffic model, with little upfront fees. More importantly Directories are indexed by search engines regularly, and the websites within them are seen by the search engines often. When a search engine identifies a website link within a directory it typically gives link popularity credit to that website.

Our “Directory Inclusion Service” incorporates some of the most popular directories on the Internet. Hand chosen, these directories are known to contribute traffic and link popularity to our clients' websites. We will create titles, and descriptions to use when registering with each directory, and will determine the most relevant section within each directory in which to submit our clients' website.

Often, we will change up these titles and descriptions to show relevancy for more than just one topic. This allows the search engines to see relevancy for multiple keywords. As part of an ongoing value to our clients we literally hand submit to each directory, and will create a screenshot of each “registration completion” page, and will send these screenshots to our clients via email.

Appropriate directory links add beneficial link popularity and visibility to websites which are significant considerations during the indexing and ranking processes used by most major search engines.

In consideration of Search Engines which may discourage automated programs, Submissions are initiated by hand, one by one. Directories may take two weeks to respond to website inclusion requests. During this process, PositionKing® keeps screen shots of these directory request acknowledgements. These screen shots are available to you by email should you wish to have a separate copy for your local records.

Be advised that folders of screen shots may be several megabytes in size and may result in lengthy email download time. Participants generally notice an increase in search engine rankings within a few weeks of successful directory placement.
